God, it feels like we've been though this before. People reading into every little thing that PI posts. PI posting cryptic emoticons. It's deja vu, all over again.
The fringe should notice that a silent smiley face from people in the know generally means good news. I'm excited.

Maybe the image of Oldtimer wearing a chastity belt brought a smile to PI. (Although I would think it woud have a somewhat different effect).
I must not comment...resisting the urge to type....resist, resist, resist.....................
Good to see i'm not the only one looking at the site every few hrs looking for the announcement of a date to announce what college Amile will attend lol.
i saw that smiley. OFF to scour the twitterverse for answers
That's good news in my book, especially after reading the Duke is Nirvana for Amile and Coach K piece in Bleacher something, something, blog.
Not going to link because I don't want to give them hits. Oh, it will only anger you - be forewarned.
PROUD STATE GRADUATE
Who is this Amile of which you speak?![]()
Basketball, Basketball, Basketball, Basketball, Basketball, Basketball....
I need to know whats happening! That way i can go back to obsessing about football...like i've been trained to do this time of year.
The Amile Jefferson recruitment has been one of the most followed topics for NC State fans over the past few months. The Pack has waited and waited for Jefferson to make his final decision, but they still haven't gotten it. There have been reports of press conferences that end up never happening and reports that this week will be the week that Jefferson pulls the trigger, but still, nothing.
Jefferson is the #25 player in the nation according to ESPN and would significantly help the Wolfpack in many areas. For one, he'd provide frontcourt depth fo State, who just lost their back up center DeShawn Painter. Jefferson would also likely bump NC State's recruiting class up to #2 in the entire nation, as he would join Rodney Purvis, TJ Warren and Tyler Lewis in an already stacked class. So after weeks and weeks of speculation we have what we finally feel is significant information to pass along.
We know that over the past few weeks Jefferson and his family have been torn about which school would be the best fit for Amile. He's narrowed down his list to NC State, Duke, Kentucky, Villanova and Ohio State. Jefferson never said it, but early in the process the Wolfpack had the lead, but Duke entered into the picture to complicate things and then Kentucky, and then there's always the hometown team, Villanova. This caused the Jefferson camp to really take a closer look at things and see where Amile would fit best.
With that said, two different nuggets of information from two different sources have us believing that at this moment Jefferson is leaning towards NC State as his final choice.
We will say what we always say about recruiting. Things change minute by minute in this game and you're dealing with 17-18 year old kids, so things can change, but as of right now we feel as if NC State holds the lead over Duke and the others.
We still do not know a set time for Jefferson's decision (although we've heard a rumor that it could be Friday) and we don't know if he's even made a FINAL decision, but you have to believe it would have to be sometime soon.
We will continue to monitor the Jefferson recruitment and provide you with any updates or information we come across..Stay tuned...
That smiley isn't very "cryptic" at all. PI, I'm assuming you know what you are insinuating and that you are prepared for any firestorms otherwise. I thought about it, and short of some afternoon delight, I cant think of any other reason for the smiley.
^ I think you're right on. PI may not have the final decision from Jefferson. But, you can bet that they wouldn't have posted this without triple checking their sources.
I've never posted a smiley after a little afternoon delight. That was classic.
Thanks for the information, PI! You are providing all of the dwellers some food for frenzy. I hope that you are right, and Jefferson commits tomorrow. Much appreciated. I know that you're putting a bit of credibility on the line when you post something like this for your community.
Go State!
Come on Amile join the Pack. This pack of recruits will definitely give us a top 5 class. I don't know if its enough for us to pass UK or zona since they each have three in the top 15. But if Torian Graham re re commits we will be #2.
How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it.
has this recruitment hit its climax?
cheers,
~spin
Well this thread took a turn for the ugly just as quickly as it took a turn for the beautiful!
Back on topic, fellas. We don't want to lock this thread.
If what PI is saying holds true...I am very happy for Amile. He seems like a good kid and I truly believe the best thing for him is to attend State and play basketball. At this moment it seems like the guy has made the best decision for his future. Congratulations Amile, we are all proud FOR you.
That's great news, even if it is not 100%. It's just good to hear SOMETHING from someone we can trust.
Loved the smiley post a couple of pages back. ........![]()
What's all this talk about Torian Graham recommitting? I thought it's pretty much accept now, especially since he's playing AAU ball, that he's reclassifying for 2013?
Lots of questions need to be answered about Graham before he'll be committing anywhere. I really want to see him succeed, be it at NC State or elsewhere. The kid has been through a ton of tragedy and it'd be nice to see him come out on top.
With all that said, this is the Amile Jefferson thread. Post Torian Graham and any other prospect questions on the recruiting thread. Thanks.
Back on topic..
I'm obviously elated by this apparent great news, but as PI cautioned, these are young kids and can be very unpredictable. If anyone is prone to changing his mind, I'm afraid it might be Amile. Just think about the number of false alarms where either he or his father said he would be announcing shortly (as far back as November), and it never happened. I will enjoy this sign of encouragement and keep my fingers crossed, but even now I'm no more than 50 /50 in terms of confidence that he will pick us. Okay, maybe 51/49

Still resisting the urge to comment.......must wait for Amile to make the next move....
^ I think Amile is playing a game of "chicken" with you..just to see who flinches first.
just back away from the keyboard....I know I can do it....resisting......
I think that qualifies as a comment.
Unless Amile doesn't want to give a lot of advanced notice, I'm thinking it's not going to be tomorrow. You gotta believe Cal and K are both doing a full court press right now. But our guy seems to be able to handle them pretty well.
So is Amile going to make an announcement tomorrow? I heard unconfirmed reports early this week that friday (26th) was the day -- can anyone confirm?
Is it just me, or this situation getting more and like a reproduction of something we've all witnessed before?
Sorta like a facsiamile, or something like that anyway?
His coach said on twitter that no presser is scheduled for tomorrow. Like we said we have no idea when he will announce or if he's even made a true final decision.
Strange thought but can't he announce without a presser?
Hey smoooth, the 26th will be on a Friday next year, and with the way Amile is going, you might actually be right about the day. Just 2013 instead of 2012.
