Just got a text from Young's coach, Blake Spiering, plus we'll have an interview with him later on tonight...

but it seems State cooled on Young and not visa-versa. What does this mean? Well it could mean a bunch of things. One, it's a pretty good bet that they know for sure Leslie is staying, but it could also mean they know something about Jefferson that we don't.

True Stu though there's nothing wrong with bringing a young man in on a recruiting trip and deciding not to offer him.

Cant watch pick games. Observing workouts hes doing somewhere else on is own is different

But staff can ask current players that he just played pick-up with for their thoughts.

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that they would back off him based on that, if our staff did indeed cool on him. They scouted and watched Young for a while and probably had a good idea how he would fit in and how long it would take to develop him. If what PI said is true, I'm inclined to believe good news is coming on Leslie and Jefferson.

It seems to me that when PI says we "cooled on him" its not something that happened over the weekend. Kinda get the feeling it happened over the last couple of weeks and that Young ( and State) wanted to see the visit through just in case. It just doesn't seem like something that happens overnight.

I think "the plan" is to not bring in players they are not certain about or who they feel may not be ready to contribute. For me, without seeing him play against quality D1 competition it is very hard to determine how good his game really is. It also seems that other elite programs had limited interest in him.

Yep, this is what I think is happening. I have a feeling that targeting "project" players is in the past for us. I think this coaching staff expects to recruit at a high level every single year.

Corchiani's latest tweets lead me to believe staff didn't want to see Harris transfer b/c they were bringing in Young.

This. I REALLY think Tyler Harris could be a huge help next year and I hope Thomas is as well. The staff realizes they've got something really good going on with Harris. Corch's tweets make a LOT of sense.
