I'll be able to look into these concerns this weekend when I have some more time to play around with the software. I'm not sure if those things are customizable, but I'm guessing they are. I'll let you know what we find out.
Kudos to you guys at PI for enhancing your system. I like it, but I have a couple of suggestions... hopefully you'll take this as constructive. If you're not open to this (or unable to do this), that's perfectly fine with me. No complaints.
1) It would be nice to be able to change our "display name" to something other than the user ID that we login with. This is VERY minor, but I've seen this on other sites.
2) This is one I would really like to see... it seems the timeout length is very short (I'm guessing about 15 minutes?) I like to leave windows open while I'm at work, and just click the refresh button periodically to read the new comments. But it seems like I have to login again VERY often. And I'm not away very long. I hope you will consider extending the timeout length to something more like an hour or two hours.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Sounds good, thanks PI!
I can't get in to the Purvis to announce thread. Is something wrong with it? It says I'm not signed in, but I am. I can open all other threads.
There's no problem with it. I just posted in there.
I was blocked from posting for months by some techno glitch. Even my emails to PI were not going through. I was really excited to see the new (start over) website since I can now post comments and not just read what others have posted. Thank you PI!
any chance for a potential "like" button??
Just another hopeful request that the timeout can either be extended to more like an hour, or removed altogether. It's terrible. While I'm working, I read posts when I can, and I work most of the time. If I work for what seems like 10-15 minutes, and come back to a PI blog and click the "Refresh" button, it forces me to login again. I end up logging-in several times a day, and my user name is "TruthBKnown Returns". That's a pain to type over and over again. This makes me want to create a new account called "zzz" or something.
Is there any reason to log people out after a certain time interval? It's not like this is a bank account we're logged into. It's a place to blog about NC State sports. Logging in so repetitively seems so unnecessary.
I know this is not my website and all, but that's something I would change if I could.
It doesn't do that to me.
sundrop, do you ever leave a PI blog page untouched for 15-30 minutes, come back to it, and click "Refresh"?
As long as I'm doing SOMETHING (refreshing or opening new pages, etc.) it doesn't log me out. It's only when I'm away for a little while that it does that. It's as if when I do something here, it resets the countdown timer for me and I stay logged in.
As a test, can you login and then eat your dinner, watch TV or something (without touching your browser), then come back and click refresh?
Yeah, I do. Sometimes I leave it for an hour or more. I don't, however, click refresh. I click on Forum to go back to the main 3 forums.

I use Chrome. I used to use Opera, but it started slowing down on me, so I switched to Chrome. I just got home, and left the window up for 2 hours, just clicked on Forum and voila. It might be Chrome, I don't know. I hope that you do get it straightened out, as your user name IS a bit long lol. You shoulda just called yourself TBK, as that is what we all call you.
I use Chrome also and have never been logged out. I can even restart my computer and don't have to log back in again. I haven't ever left the page open and sitting there though so I'm not sure if I have the issue of it logging out during that.
Yeah Chaos, same with me. TBK, do you have the site remember your user name and password?
if you have a program that erases your history, ccleaner for instance, sometimes it will log you out and you'll have to recheck the "remember me" box again. you can usually exempt a program with advanced settings though.
Update: After checking that checkbox to make it "remember me", it seems to be keeping me logged in -- thanks for the tip, sundropdrinker!
Hey guys, I noticed that the PI article links are not being updated on wolfpackwire since you re-vamped. (http://wolfpackwire.com/) You may want to converse with whoever runs that site to fix it, it could bring you more traffic.
